Are you considering adding a blog to your nonprofit's web site, or are you just starting one and need some advice? This session will help you strategize about how to use a blog as part of your nonprofits' communication plan. You'll also learn how to write a post, create links, add a photo, increase comments and traffic, and measure your blog's statistics. We'll also cover how to do outreach to ask bloggers to get the word out about your cause.

Is your Executive Director a charismatic speaker? Do the people you serve have amazing stories to tell? Do you want to get audio presentations from your organization's events online? If you answered yes to any of these questions, a podcast may be an effective communication tool for your nonprofit. This session will help you strategize about how to use a podcast as part of your nonprofits' communication plan. You'll also learn about the range of hardware and software available for your organization's budget, and the process for producing a podcast.

Social Media Game for Nonprofits

The session will begin with a brief introduction to the strategies and tools, followed by the "Nonprofits and Social Media Game," a simulation using a special deck of cards where participants work in small groups to develop a strategy, identify challenges, and benefits to integrating specific social media tools and strategies in a nonprofit organizational context. Each group will share campaign ideas and the benefits and challenges they discovered. Participants will leave the session with ideas to implement back at the office and additional resources for continued learning.
